Heartfelt Creations Book and Gift Box

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

For this week's Heartfelt Creation Burst of Splendor Collection submission, I decide to make another book and alter a box.
Here's a pic of the box before it was altered.

Here's the altered box. It looks a little different.

You can find the instruction for this project at the end of this posting (it's a little long). If you would like to see some fantastic projects, go to the Heartfelt Creations blog. The design team's projects are just amazing.

Have a Blessed Day
Hugs,
Regina

I would like to send a special "Thank You" to Jim The Gentlemen Crafter. Thank you Jim for your excellent tutorials. I'm finally learning how to make book covers.

Instructions: Box Size 5 ½ L x 5 W x 1 5/8 H
Box - Start by cutting Burst of Splendor Collection paper to cover box, slightly distress paper edges, sponge with gathered twig and black soot distress ink, and adhere to box. Add glitter to box top using the “Mixed Glitter Technique” from this video tutorial here.

Book - Cut (2) chipboard sheets to 5 x 4, (1) to 1 x 4, and cut Burst of Splendor paper to 5 x 12. To cover chipboard pieces, center chipboard on top of paper leaving a ½ border around and a 1/8 space between the chipboard pieces, cover chipboard edges with Scor-Tape, fold over Burst Of Splendor paper onto Scor-Tape, cut a 4 ½ x 12 piece of Burst of Splendor paper to cover the rest of the chipboard, adhere with Scor-Tape, and gently fold book cover into shape. Add glitter to cover using the “Mixed Glitter Technique”.

Pages - Start with a 4 ½ x 4 piece of Burst of Splendor Collection paper, and score at ¼, ¾, 1 ¼, 1 ½, 2, 2 ½, 2 ¾, 3 ¼, 3 ¾, 4. Fold on the score lines, using the ½ inch section to create peaks, place ½ Scor-Tape in ½ sections, remove paper backing and adhere together. Attach Scor-Tape to the back of the accordion section, and adhere to the spine section of the book cover.  Cut (4) pieces of Burst of Splendor Collection paper to 9 ½ x 3 ¾, score at 4 ¾, place Score tape to inside edges of the pager, remove paper backing, and adhere to peaks. Cut out (7) 2 x 3 rectangles from Burst of Splendor Collection papers, stamp Trust In The Lord and Hope In The Lord sentiments using seedless preserves distress ink, distress edges, sponge edges with brushed corduroy and black soot distress ink, adhere to pages.

Flowers - Stamp the Blooming Dahlia twice onto white cardstock with walnut stain distress ink. Cut out the entire flower with a scissors of one of the images and on the second image cut around the second layer of petals. Stamp the Sun Kissed Fleur flower on white cardstock with walnut stain distress ink and cut them out with the coordinating die. Use 3 of the largest flowers and 3 of the third largest flowers. Color all the flowers gathered twigs, brushed corduroy and walnut stain distress ink. To shape the main flower layers, lay each flower (except the 3 for the bud) stamped side up on the paper blossoms mat and start at the tip of each petal and press down firmly with the stylus and pull towards the flower center, and pinch the edges. Click here. to watch the video to create the flower bud. Layer the flowers on top of each other from largest to smallest alternating the petals.  Stamp the Classic Leaf and Bold Leaf onto white cardstock using brushed corduroy distress ink, sponge with forest moss and walnut stain distress ink, die cut leaves with Classic Leaf dies, place on molding mat to shape, and adhere to flower.  Die cut (2) of the largest tags from the Decorative Flower Pot die set, emboss, sponge with brushed corduroy distress ink, remove die and sponge edges  with walnut stain distress ink. Stamp All Season Sentiments twice onto white cardstock using distressing inks, cut out sentiment, distress edges, sponge with brushed corduroy and walnut stain distress ink, and adhere sentiments to book cover and tags.
