Some Gatefold Christmas Cards

Hello My Fellow Bloggers,
Sorry I've been away for so long, but life has a way of interfering with crafting. To make a long story short, I'm still in Florida. I will most likely be here until the end of the school year. But that is just fine, I'm loving the Florida weather.

Okay, today I'm showing a couple of Christmas cards that I made for my DH and my MIL. I purchased some new toys, and I couldn't wait to play with them. The cards feature the Dec 2011 dies from Heartfelt Creations. They are quickly becoming my favorite, and I guess you can see why.

Here's my MIL's card.

Here's my DH's card.

The cards measure 4 1/2 x 7. You can find the video for making this card at the Heartfelt Creation blog here.  Once you see these dies, I'm sure you will want to purchase them.

Well that's all for me. I hope to be back with you again soon.
Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hugs,
Regina

Make a Wish - Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

I'm finally back. After packing and moving, I'm finally settled to the point where I can finally start crafting again. Boy, I really miss my toys.  Well, today I have a card that I made for my SIL using an older Mojo Monday sketch.

This is a 5 x 6.5 card. The strips were cut to 5 x 1.5 and attached together with a scrap piece of paper in the back. Trim the bottom with a Martha Stewart border punch and attached to the background paper.  Sentiment was stamped using a JustRite's stamp, punch out and attach to flower. Attach sentiment to card using foam squares. Pebbles were created using Epiphany Crafts punch.

Thank you for stopping by and I'll blog with you later.

Have a fabulous day,
Regina

My DH's Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

Today is my DH birthday, and I made this Book Card and Gift Box for him. You can find the tutorial for making this card here.

The Gift Box
The Book Card
Side View Of The Book Card
Here's the gift box.  I have a question. Have ever had this happen to you, or something simular. You've worked on a project for over a week, or just worked hard on a project. You finally get it completed. You look at your work and admire how well it turned out. Suddenly you realize something is missing. If not, I just experienced that moment. I was looking at over a week's worth of work, and I realized, my DH birthday card doesn't say Happy Birthday anywhere on it or in it. I'm looking at it thinking "Are You Serious?" Now I have to think of a way to add a tag or something that says Happy Birthday without it looking like an after thought. So here's my solution...LOL...

Inside Of The Book Card
I wonder if my DH will notice........  BTW...He absolutely LOVES his card.
Gift Box and Book Card
Well that's it for me. Have a Fabulous Day, and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

Tuesday Trigger - Luminous Layers

Hello Everyone,

Today I have a card for your. This card will be entered into the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger: Luminous Layers. Here's this week's Trigger.

Isn't this dress fabulous? I love all the different patterns and colors. Here's my take on the inspiration photo.

I punched several circles from different patterned papers, and inked the edges with brown chalk ink. I then mounted the circles on brown cardstock, trimmed the edges and added ribbon to the bottom. I stamped the sentiment on some pearl white cardstock and glued the sentiment to the bottom.

Well that's it for me. Have a fabulous day, and I'll blog with you later...

eclectic Challenge: Your a Good Egg.

Hello Everyone,

I'm entering the eclectic Challenge: Your A Good Egg, so I have another posting for you today. For this challenge we are to create a project using the following items:
  1. Distress Inks (could be a combination of Distress Ink Pads or Distress Stains)
  2. Any kind of die (could be Spellbinders, Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Circuit, etc...)
  3. and an EGG CARTON - incorporate into your project somehow. You could flatten it out, cut it up, or use it as a surface.
So I made a this little frame.

The entire frame was made by die cutting cardboard using my Grand Nesties. I used Distress Inks on the frames edges and the flowers. I sprayed the flowers with gold and silver glimmer mist to give them a little shine.
Here's the Egg Carton.

I die cut the shape out of a egg carton, painted with black and white paint, and stamped a sentiment in the middle.  I think will will place the frame in a shadow box, and give to my friend.. Here's a close up of the sentiment. It was stamped using distress ink.

Well that's it for me. Have a fabulous day and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

JustRite Challenge 056 - A Shaped Christmas Card

Hello Everyone,

FYI....The JustRite Weekly Challenges have started again.

I have a card that will be entered the JustRite Challenge 056.  For this challenge we have to create a shaped Christmas card or tag. So I decided to make a shaped Christmas card using my Grand Nesties.
I made the flower using a tutorial I found here, and I used some glitter glue on the tips to give it a little sparkle.  For the center of the flower, I created a brad (with the i-top tool) using the same background paper as the card. I color the image with Copics and layered it on a doily (of course).

Well, that's all for me, I need to finish my DH's birthday card... Have a fabulous day, and I'll blog with you later

Hugs,
Regina

A Perfect Day - A Scrapbook Page

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another scrapbook LO for your viewing. I'm entering this into the Once Upon A......Sketch August 1st Challenge.   The theme of this challenge is "A Perfect Day". For this challenge, I did another graduation lo, but using brighter colors.  Believe it, or not, I didn't use a doily in this LO.  Here's the sketch.
I just love this sketch. So simple, yet so elegant. Here's my LO.
I didn't use any special techniques on the page. But I did use some new embellishments I recently purchased (rhinestone circle), and some I won (the pins)... All of the colors that were used on this LO were taken from the photo, down to the pearl necklace I was wearing.
The pearl pins I won on Becca Feeken's blog, aren't they beautiful. She is such a talented lady. The mini roses are made from a die I just purchased. I think their tiny sizes are just too cute.
My journaling says:

May 11, 2001.
A Perfect Day is seeing a dream become a reality.  It took me quiet some time to finally graduate from college.  Life has a way of stepping in and altering you plans.  But I never gave up on my dream of earning a college degree. And I finally did it!!! It was A Perfect Day.

Well that's if for me. Have a fabulous day and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

A Husband's Challenge

Hello Everyone,

Today my DH gave me a challenge. He gave me this cabinet sample that he's had in his office, at work for awhile, and wanted me to create something out of it.  Now this was really a challenge for me. I don't consider myself really creative, but I gave it the old college try. Here's the cabinet sample.

And this is what a made. A plaque/wall hanging.

I started off by sanding the board, to remove some of the varnish, and then painted the entire board black.

I then lightly painted the board white, and added some swirls and chandeliers that I cut using my Cricut Expression.

I added some roses I made, remember I'm addicted to making these, I guess it's time to move on to making a different type of flower. I also added a butterfly and white feathers.
I added some rhinestone to the chandeliers and to the picture. Then I added a doily behind the picture, of course.

Cut "TRUE LOVE" using my Cricut, and I was done. I made some mistakes, but I do like it a lot. Not too bad for my first attempt at an altered project. Maybe I can use it to decorate  the walls of my craft room. Well that's it for me. Have a fabulous day, and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

A Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,
I have another card today. I had originally made some cards for my sibling's birthday's, but after looking at them for a week, I just didn't like them at all. I tried something different, it didn't work out. So, to make a long story short, I did them over. This time, I'm happy with them.  This one is going to entered into the The Craft's Meow July Sketch Challenge. Here's the sketch.

Here's my card.

My card is 6 x 6, I like making large cards, I used a stamp set by The Craft's Meow. I love this image, it's just so cute.  Of course I just had to use a doily.... I used a DCWV's paper stack for the entire card. They have some wonderful glittered patterned papers in this stack. Well that's it for me. Have a fabulous day and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

Palette #68 - Pink Can Be Masculine

Hello Everyone,
Today I have another scrapbook LO for you using. This LO will be entered into The Color Room's Palette #68 Challenge. Here's this week's color palette.

Here's my take on the color palette and sketch.
I made a LO featuring my DH. Pink and brown tends to be a little girlie, but I was able to make the LO a little more masculine by using more browns. Of course I had to use a doily and make some flowers to with the LO, but I still think the LO has a little masculine feel. I was surprised that my DH really liked it (he hates pics of himself). There's no different techniques on this LO, except I made one of the flowers out of vellum.

Well that's all for me. Have a fabulous day, and I'll blog with you later.

Hugs,
Regina

A No Stamp Card

Hello Everyone,

Here's a quick and easy card I created for my siblings birthdays. This card was made without using stamps. It was made using just Dazzles Stickers (including the sentiments).

All I did was layer some card stock, colored the Dazzles with some permanent markers, place them on the card stock and I have a completed card in about 15 minutes. I actually made 2 cards, so it took me about 30 minutes.

Well that's it for me. Have a fabulous day and blog with you later.

Hugs,

Hello Everyone,

Today I have yet another scrapbook page. Three in a row. The page will be entered into the Sketchabilities Sketch #51 Challenge. Here's the Sketch.

Here's my page.......

I distressed the edges, and used some chalk ink on the background papers to tone down the intense bright colors.  The flowers was created using a photo tutorial from Swirlydoos

Well, I will be getting back to card making very soon. I need to make cards for my mom, my sister, and my brother's birthdays.

That's it for me. Have a fabulous day, and I'll blog with you later.

That Smile - A Scrapbook Page

Hello Everyone,

Today I have another scrapbook page for (yes, 2 in a row),  I'm beginning to finally really get some of the layouts completed. Now if only I could finish my Christmas layouts finished. This layout is being entered into the The Color Room's Palette #67 challenge. For this challenge, we are to use the following color palette.

Aren't these some great color? Well here's my page, and I used my favorite subject.

During the last Scrapbook Expo, I took the Faber-Castell Mix and Match class, and I've been waiting to use some of the techniques we learned, so I gave the techniques a try on this layout. I tore my background paper, then glued to a piece of cardboard that I've been saving. I smeared some Faber-Castell Gelatos all around the torn edges, and diluted the color with some water. I used the Pitt artist pen around the border of the paper, and diluted the color with some water also. The artist pin and gelatos give the paper some shimmer, that really doesn't show well on camera.

Well that's all for me. Have a Fabulous Day, and I'll blog with you later...

Hugs,
Regina
